"This practice is designed to isolate an important psychic passage located within the center of the spine. This passage is known as sushumna nadi, which takes root in the base of the spine and eventually reaches the top of the head near the center of the skull. This passage is one of the most vital passages within the energetic system of the body as it is responsible for carrying the primordial energy known as Kundalini. The movement of kundalini energy is one of the more esoteric practices in yoga as it is believed to be the conductor for higher states of self realization."
